The work we do
At Berry Redmond Gordon and Penney Solicitors, we understand that divorce can be one of the most emotionally challenging experiences you may face. Our team is here to guide and support you at every step, ensuring you understand your rights and options.
We recognize that each divorce is unique, with different circumstances and requirements. Whether your separation is amicable or contentious, involves children, or involves financial disputes, our specialists have the expertise to help you navigate this difficult time. We believe in facilitating amicable agreements whenever possible to preserve ongoing family relationships.
Vicky Shufflebottom, a qualified solicitor since 2007 and a member of Resolution and the Law Society’s Children Panel, brings expertise in family law and child welfare.
Resolution is a professional organization committed to resolving family law matters with minimal conflict. If mediation, negotiation, or court proceedings are necessary to reach an agreement, we provide expert advice and support to help you achieve the best possible outcome.
Applying for Divorce
To apply for divorce in the United Kingdom, you must have been married for at least one year and have lived in the UK, or have UK domicile, at the time of the application. Both you and/or your spouse will need to confirm that the marriage has irretrievably broken down.
Divorce applications can be made either jointly or individually. We can assist you with this process, whether you are applying for divorce or have received an Acknowledgement of Service from your spouse. Additionally, we can guide you through applying for a Conditional Order, which confirms that the court sees no reason you cannot finalize your divorce at a later stage.
